Abercrombie & Fitch has elected Kerrii B. Anderson as a director. Anderson will serve on the Audit and Finance Committee of the Board. Her appointment expands the board to ten directors, four of whom are women.

Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Chairman of the Board, Terry Burman, cited Anderson's leadership track record, her "deep expertise in finance, operations and strategy, and significant consumer-facing public company management and board experience" as factors that will bring a fresh perspective to the Board.

Most recently, Anderson was President, Chief Operating Officer and board member for Wendy's, where, before stepping into the CEO role, she was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to Wendy's, Anderson was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for homebuilder M/I Schottenstein Homes Inc., now M/I Homes Inc.

Anderson is also a director of Worthington Industries where she is a member of the Compensation Committee and Audit Committee. She is also a director for Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings and chairs its Audit Committee, as well as sitting on its Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee.

Outside of her roles on for-profit boards of directors, Anderson is also involved in non-profits ranging from universities to healthcare.

She received her Bachelor's degree in business administration with a minor in accounting and economics from Ohio's Elon University, and holds an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Anderson called Abercrombie a "storied company", adding that she was looking forward to working with the brand during this period in its evolution.

Former Abercrombie & Fitch CEO Mike Jeffries repeatedly made news for controversial brand policies and was ousted last year. Current CEO Fran Horowitz has led a new strategy for Abercrombie that offers a fresh brand concept: smaller retail footprints and better lighting in store have helped the brand revitalize and begin a relationship with a new generation of consumer.

Anderson's appointment as a director is effective immediately.
