Rick Owens' curated looks, objects, furniture, legwear and accessories will be available in the pop-up. Bespoke and limited styles designed by Owens include four different fabrications of classic Birkenstock styles in army felt, suede, full grain leather and longhair pony. There are also two legwear styles included in the Rick Owens capsule.

Commenting on the collaboration, Owens said, “I like a steady original invested in the long game.”

For their part, Birkenstock's CEO Oliver Reichert said the brand is excited to collaborate with Rick Owens on a "genuinely creative venture for the Box project in Los Angeles."

The Box itself is made up of converted freight containers. Each collaborative partner provides a unique interior design concept and merchandise assortment. The creative goal of the pop-up is to create a space that encourages collaboration between artists, retailers and customers.

The Box has toured Berlin and Milan. It had previous partnerships in New York with the Whitney Museum and Barneys.

The bespoke Rick Owens x Birkenstock styles will be offered for pre-order starting March 1st. They will launch on all Rick Owens and Birkenstock channels on March 15th, 2018.

The Birkenstock Box will arrive in LA for a private launch event on March 15th. It will be open to the public March 16th through 20th. It will be parked outside of the Rick Owens store on La Brea.
