The two-day festival is the biggest fair dedicated to knitting and crocheting in the Netherlands and available to both hobbyists and professionals. This year, the festival will host 90 international exhibitors offering knitting and crochet-related products, including Atelier Lindelicht, Noordwolde, Netherlands; Bart and Francis, Kortrijk Belgium; Debonnaire Yarns, Dundsen Green, England; and Hobbywool, Riga, Latvia.

In addition, the festival will also organize 30 workshops and master classes. This year’s special guests are the designers behind the popular England-based knitting and crochet blog, Stylecraft Blogstars. The group of designers, which includes Emma Varnam, Jane Crowfoot, Sarah Shrimpton and Helen Shrimpton, will host workshops and is available for meet & greets with visitors. The festival said that the Stylecraft Blogstars prove the increased popularity in knitting and crochet.

Furthermore, the fair will be home to various book and pattern launches: Wool & Co will unveil a new book and Carla Meijsen of The Dutch Knitters plans to introduce her latest publication Magische Motieven (Magical Motifs), which is based on an explanation about an arithmetical design method from Latvia for making geometric motifs.

The Dutch Knitting festival is an event by Second Events, which has specialised in textile fairs and events since 2002. In addition to the Dutch Knitting festival, the company also organizes Handwerkbeurs in the Netherlands and Belgium, which is the largest trade fair in textile hobbies. Dutch Knitting festival hosts about 5,000 visitors every year.
