After opting for an innovative film presentation for Spring/Summer 2018 at London Fashion Week, the British designer famed for his avant garde aesthetic is opening up his archive for a fashion-meets-film retrospective over the Shanghai Fashion Weekend.

The immersive exhibition will feature 12 looks from the designer’s archive, putting on display some of his most highly recognisable pieces from the catwalks and a selection of pieces worn by celebrities such as Beyoncé and Lady Gaga.  Four fashion films are also set to be shown at the event, amongst them Pugh’s Spring/Summer 2018 collaboration with photographer Nick Knight.

“We’re thrilled to be taking our show on the road and presenting work in Shanghai for the first time,” Pugh commented.  “We hope to offer the audience a high impact experience that explores some of the key themes of my work over the past decade in a completely new way.”

The event, along with the Shanghai Fashion Weekend, will be produced by IPCN, an Anglo-Chinese entertainment business, content producer and distributor.

Of the event, IPCN CEO Rebecca Yuancao Yang said: " Shanghai Fashion Weekend is a unique celebration where art and fashion are translated to every ordinary young person who will be inspired and powered by connecting with top class, uncompromising and thought-provoking designers like Gareth."

The content network teamed up with the British Fashion Council for the weekend’s first edition in April 2017. It will unveil the exhibition this weekend at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre, which will run from October 20 to 22.
