The Italian government has made changes to the board of directors of the Istituto per il Commercio Estero (ICE), its Foreign Trade agency, that looks after the internationalisation of Italian companies and their promotion abroad. The Ministry of Economic Development stated in a communiqué that, within the next few days, ICE's new board, consisting of Giuseppe Mazzarella, Niccolò Ricci, Luigi Pio Scordamaglia, Licia Mattioli and Michele Scannavini, will appoint the latter as its President.

He will take over from Riccardo Monti, who was elected ICE's President in 2012.

ICE will thus be led by a manager with a significant international experience, which he acquired working for major multinational companies. Michele Scannavini is a graduate of Milan's Luigi Bocconi economics university, and began his marketing career at Procter & Gamble, continuing at Galbani and Ferrari, before taking charge of Fila in 1999.

In 2002 he left Italy to join US-French beauty manufacturer Coty, where he acted in several roles culminating with that of CEO, from 2012 to September 2014. He then worked as a consultant in the luxury goods industry, and in 2015 he joined the board of directors of Tod's Group.
