Otrium has been recognized alongside online beer retailer Beerwulf and construction toy company Twickto as the most innovative start-up in the country. The jury consisted of Marije Hovestad, Dutch Chamber of Commerce; Albert-Jan Prevoo, KLM Royal Dutch Airline; and Jesse Weltevreden, Professor Digital E-commerce/E-commerce Foundation, amongst others. The winner will be named on 8 March 2018.

The ‘Beste Starter Award’ is intended to offer starting e-commerce companies a platform on which they can present themselves and improve their concept, based on feedback from the jury. The winner of the ‘Beste Starter Award’ will be regarded as the figurehead of Dutch start-ups in the field of e-commerce.

Otrium offers members access to online outlet sales from both well- known and emerging brands. Otrium provides both the technology as well as the logistics for the brands. The online platform offers Dutch and international brands, including SuperTrash, Fabienne Chapot, Denham, Josh V, Puma and Pepe Jeans.

Earlier this year, Otrium received an investment of 750,000 euros from Adriaan Mol (Mollie & MessageBird), Fred Gehring (former CEO Tommy Hilfiger) and Ludo Onnink (former CFO Tommy Hilfiger). The company was celebrated for being a modern addition to the outlet landscape upon receiving the investment. Otrium announced that the growth capital has already been invested in the launch of the menswear shop.

Otrium launched in 2015 by entrepreneurs Milan Daniels and Max Klijnstra. The company aims to be the largest online fashion outlet in Europe by 2020.

Previous Shopping Awards winners include fashion label G-Star and footwear retailer Omoda.
