After putting Sébastien Coutellier in charge of key accounts at the French subsidiary, Dutch label Scotch & Soda now has a new head of marketing. In January 2018, Ralph Rijks was appointed Chief Marketing Officer for Scotch & Soda. Rijks is experienced in the consumer goods market, having worked at PepsiCo International and Heineken, where he spent nearly ten years. He started at Heineken as Senior Product Manager for Amstel and left last August, when he was the Senior Vice-President of Heineken USA.

In parallel with his managerial career, Ralph Rijks created his own brand in 2016, launching the Moomu changing mat for babies. The brand aims to "develop baby-care essentials that are completely safe for babies and parents and are sustainable for Mother Earth."

"I look forward to working with the [Scotch & Soda] teams to communicate the free-thinking spirit of this renowned brand to its growing, global fan base," said Rijks, a graduate of Rotterdam's Erasmus University. Dirk-Jan Stoppelenburg, CEO of Scotch & Soda, said in a press release: "We are delighted that Ralph has joined us and will be working to develop our business."

Scotch & Soda will introduce its first footwear line in 2019 - Scotch & Soda

Scotch & Soda has ambitious expansion plans, and has recently announced the launch of a new footwear line. To develop the line, the label called on Hamm Market Solutions, a specialist in footwear licensing, which notably worked on the Gant and Tommy Hilfiger footwear.

Scotch & Soda reported a 3% revenue growth in the 2016-17 financial year, reaching €335.6 million, and will unveil the new shoe collection next June. Designed for the Spring/Summer 2019, the line will be available in-store and online in early 2019.
