Olivier Schaeffer joins on May 21 and will “lead all operations and technological activities on a global scale.” He will report directly into group CEO Federico Marchetti.

Schaeffer had a long career at the LVMH-owned beauty retailer with a 16-year tenure, during which time he was instrumental in leading the omnichannel expansion of the company as e-tail developed fast into a key channel for the beauty sector.

Marchetti on Friday said the appointment comes as YNAP wants to “accelerate [its] ambitious plans to grow globally. That’s why we asked Olivier to join us as Global COO. His decades of relevant experience are a perfect fit with our needs. Olivier will be a key asset to take us through this next phase of our growth.”

YNAP is one of the dominant players in global luxury fashion e-tail and has turned in a succession of strong results. It’s also a key player in operating the branded e-tail sites for a number of major designer labels, including Valentino, where it has an ambitious project under way to create a complete and seamless omnichannel experience for customers.
