Cédric Charlier launches men's line
Following womenswear, Cédric Charlier is now moving into menswear, a dream he has been nurturing for some time. The Belgian designer, urged by his clients to follow the dream, has announced in a press release that he will present a men's collection of about fifty items, to be showcased in January 2017 in New York, together with his women's line for Autumn/Winter 2017-18.
The new men's line will be produced under licence by the Aeffe group (Alberta Ferretti, Moschino), like Charlier's women's ready-to-wear line, launched in 2012 with the Italian manufacturer.
Geometric cuts and colours will be the new collection's distinctive features, with a special focus on materials. The collection will feature "a full, everyday men's wardrobe, combining distinctive classic items with a highly relaxed attitude and with sporty elements characterised by a sophisticated touch," the label has stated.
The former Creative Director of Cacharel, who also worked for Lanvin and Céline, is pursuing a forward trajectory that has led him to work with over 200 multi-brand clients in 4 years.
