French label Courrèges, founded by André Courrèges in 1961, is pushing forward with its retail expansion strategy. A few days after opening a New York flagship in the SoHo district in mid-September, Courrèges announced the forthcoming opening of another store in Paris. The new Parisian boutique was inaugurated at the end of October, and is located in the Rive Gauche (left bank) neighbourhood, at 1 place Michel Debré. The store’s strictly white interiors designed by Belgian architect Bernard Dubois - a space station-like look - reinterpret the aesthetic codes dear to Nicolas Di Felice, the label's creative director since September 2020.

Courrèges’s new store has boosted the label's presence in Paris, where it already operates two boutiques: its long-standing store at 40 rue François 1er, renovated in 2020, and another that was opened the following year in the Marais district, at 119 rue Vieille du Temple. These consecutive openings reflect the ambitious plans of Adrien Da Maia, CEO of Courrèges for the last two years and also the man in charge at Artemis, the Pinault family’s investment company.

“The idea behind this new store is to reconnect with Courrèges’s long-established Rive Gauche clientèle, by choosing a location that is especially strategic for the daily activities of the people living in this iconic neighbourhood,” said Da Maia in a press release.

In this new Parisian showcase, situated at the Croix-Rouge crossroads, the Courrèges collections are displayed on two floors, linked up by an immaculate spiral staircase. The store also sells the latest items from the Fall/Winter 2022 shows.

The fitting area is entirely panelled with mirrors, and has at its centre a circular seat, handy for the store’s customers. The enveloping all-white interiors, punctuated with bright spotlights, have the same night club feel of the label’s New York store.
