Dubbed 'SuperGucci', the bespoke three-part series launches February 1 and marks the luxury house’s expansion into the world of NFTs and the metaverse.

The first drop features a limited offering of ten different exclusive NFTs, each accompanied by a ceramic sculpture handmade in Italy and co-designed by Gucci and Superplastic. The items draw inspiration from Gucci’s signature patterns, icons, and symbols, and were reinterpreted by Superplastic celebrities and artists, Janky & Guggimon.

As part of the launch, Gucci Vault, the online concept store, created under the vision of Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele, will join the metaverse and host the partnership.

The Vault will also present its sixth drop of pre-owned vintage Gucci pieces, which first launched in September 2021. These items have been hand-picked by Alessandro Michele and the archivists of the house, and all have been restored and reconditioned. Each vintage article is numbered and comes in its own unique packaging.

“The SuperGucci collaboration represents the next, highly anticipated step for both organizations in their path of research, experimentation, and incursions into the metaverse,” the company said in a statement.

The partnership follows the debut of the Aria NFT auctioned by Christie’s, as well as Superplastic’s massively successful Janky Heist NFT drop, also created in collaboration with Christie’s, as well as Superplastic’s January 20th Janky Headtripz NFT drop, created in collaboration with world-famous artists and celebrities.
