Arthur Arbesser is reportedly set to succeed Alexis Martial as artistic director for Iceberg’s women’s line. The flagship brand of the Italian company Gilmar, which has long specialized in knitwear, has nevertheless refused to comment. But according to our sources, it may have its sights set on the young Viennese designer, who is based in Milan, and is expected to confirm the appointment shortly.

Iceberg Woman was previously overseen by the French designer Alexis Martial, who left the label in March to join Carven. Arbesser, who has just presented a collection for the first time as part of Pitti Uomo on Wednesday, is one of the promising talents of Made in Italy.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, he spent seven years with Giorgio Armani before launching his own ready-to-wear brand in 2013. Having won Who is on Next? the same year, he was named a finalist in 2015 for the LVMH Prize and will show for the first time on the calendar of Milan Fashion Week in September.
