Joules has ended its search for a new chief financial officer, announcing Wednesday it has appointed Caroline York to the post.

She joins the family lifestyle retailer no later than September from price comparison business Moneysupermarket Group where she is finance director.

"Caroline's extensive experience in senior finance roles at strong consumer brands and digital-led businesses made her the stand-out candidate for the role", noted Ian Filby, Joules’ non-executive chairman.

York has also held finance leadership positions at Heathrow & BAA and, before that, held roles at Atos KPMG and PwC.

As previously announced in January, current CFO Marc Dench will step down on 11 May. He will then be retained by the group in a consultancy capacity “to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities”.

In the interim period, Joules will appoint Jon Dargie, currently the group's finance controller, as temporary CFO, reporting directly to the Joules board.

CEO Nick Jones added: "I am looking forward to working closely with [York] to deliver the next chapter of Joules' long-term growth and development. I have no doubt that Caroline's extensive understanding of digital and brand-led businesses will be of great value to Joules moving forward”.

York also said: "The business has a very exciting future with significant opportunities to expand the brand and continue to develop its first-class digital proposition”.
