Japanese brand Sacai, led by its founder and designer Chitose Abe, has launched its collaborative collection with Nike. The collection celebrates Nike’s connection with running with a resolutely fashionable touch resulting from Abe’s boundless creativity.

Thanks to the strength of their previous collaborations, Nike and Sacai have come together again for the autumn/ winter 2019 season with an 11-piece collection that combines fashion, garment fabrication, and performance. The new project honours the creative sensibilities and visionary spirit of Chitose Abe seen by its use of deconstruction and reconstruction and contrasts and overlays.

“I selected garments from the different universes that I like and joined them together to propose a new creation. The final result is the vision of a new hybrid form, with strength combined from the two initial pieces,” said the designer in a statement.

Logos are omnipresent in this new collection which has a key colour palette of midnight blue, purple, white, and black with hints of neon orange and yellow. Key pieces of the collection include Nike’s Windrunner windbreaker reimagined as a skirt and an elegant reinterpretation of the brand’s Tempo shorts, both two classic Nike designs.

Sneaker addicts will also eagerly anticipate the new colour-way for the “LDWaffle”, a model created from a mix of two different running shoes as well as the “Blazer”, offered this autumn in neutral shades, white and grey, or black and white.

This new collaborative collection will be on sale from September 12 at select dealers worldwide as well as online.
