Casio's toughest wristwatch is the star of a retrospective at Galerie Openspace in Paris, France, running July 2 to 9. Beyond the history of this iconic timepiece, the exhibition celebrates G-Shock's many collaborations with urban artists, showcasing the work of 14 international artists through a series of canvas prints and watch designs.

G-Shock has been teaming with internationally renowned artists for a decade, revisiting Casio's iconic watch with collaborations that reflect its urban codes. As well as creating original watch designs, the G-Shock partnerships have showcased the work of urban creatives such as graffiti artists, illustrators, painters and sculptors.

Fourteen international artists have joined G-Shock for this new retrospective, including Felipe Pantone, Jace, Swiz, Bishop Parigo, Arnaud Liard and Jan Kalab. Each has designed a work printed on canvas especially for the occasion. These will be displayed alongside a G-shock model selected by the artist. The exhibition stretches throughout the four rooms of the French capital's Galerie Openspace.

The exhibition also charts the history of the G-Shock watch, created in 1983, and looks at several of the brand's previous collaborations with artists like Eric Haze and the illustrator Parra.

Visitors can even check out the latest G-Shock collaboration with street artist Futura, which premières at the retrospective.

"G-Shock vs Urban Art" runs July 2 to 9, 2016, at Galerie Openspace, 116 Boulevard Richard Lenoir, 75011 Paris, France.
