He exits at the end of this month but no successor has been announced, although one is clearly already lined up. The company said he’ll be replaced by an “external executive who will join SMCP in December”.

Gautier has played a key role in the development of the company, which owns the Sandro, Maje, Claudie Pierlot and De Fursac brands.

The company said he was part of “various key milestones of the group’s development, alongside [CEO] Daniel Lalonde, including the acquisition of the company by its majority shareholder in 2016, as well as the IPO in 2017”. More recently he “successfully led the refinancing programme of the group” following the impact of the pandemic.

Lalonde praised the outgoing executive and said he “would like to warmly thank Philippe for his contribution to SMCP during the past five years and wish him well in his future projects”.

He added that the executive team is “highly focused on executing our strategic roadmap and we look forward to welcoming a new member of the management team soon”.
