Thom Browne has opened its first monobrand store in Europe in Via del Gesù, Milan. The store is located in central Via del Gesù and extends across five rooms on one level. It showcases Thom Browne's men's and women's ready-to-wear and accessories collections, as well as the bespoke and evening dress lines.

The interiors, conceived by the Asa Studioalbanese studio led by Favio Albanese, are inspired by late 1950s and early 1960s store design, enhanced by terrazzo floors and grey Bardiglio marble walls, and feature a careful selection of mid-century continental furniture.

"Because of my design career, I have been a regular visitor in Milan for fifteen years, said Thom Browne, and I have forged a very close link with the city, and Via del Gesù in particular. I would like visitors to feel the store is infused with true American taste, even though the majority of the collection is manufactured in Italy. This Milan store is very special to me, as it expresses the high quality and artistry which [Italy] has to offer."

Thom Browne’s collections are currently available at 250 multibrand stores in forty countries, online and at the label's 19 own stores in New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Beijing and Seoul. Thom Browne's sartorial innovation and his painstaking attention to fabrics are recognised as having a major impact on men's and women's fashion.

The designer was awarded the Menswear Designer of the Year prize by the CFDA in 2006, 2013 and 2016, the GQ Designer of the Year award in 2008 and the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in 2012. Thom Browne started out in 2001 with five dresses and one small store, open by appointment only, and launched his first men's ready-to-wear collection in 2003 and the first womenswear collection in 2011.
