A graduate of Bowdoin College, Smith brings over three decades of experience in the premium footwear market to Timberland. As VP and GM of North America, he will lead the strategic vision and operations of the brand’s wholesale and direct-to-consumer businesses in North America.

Prior to joining Timberland, Smith served as President of US Operations for Geox, where he was responsible for managing the brand’s wholesale, retail and e-commerce businesses, and he spent several years at Cole Haan and Florsheim.

“We are pleased to welcome Tracy to the Timberland community, and excited to leverage his extensive expertise in the premium footwear space,” said Jim Pisani, global brand president, Timberland. “Tracy is a proven leader with a track record of impressive results, and we look forward to his many contributions to drive significant growth for the Timberland® brand in the coming years.”

The appointment follows two additional appointments made by Timberland in the spring, including the appointment of Chris Young as VP of Operations and Federico Benzi as CFO of Timberland America.

Young previously served as VP of Operations for VF Sportswear, which includes Nautica. As VP of Operations for Timberland, he succeeds Karen Smith, who was promoted to VP Supply Chain for Jeanswear, Imagewear, Sportswear and Timberland.

Benzi succeeds Eric Carlson in his new role and previously served as CFO of Timberland EMEA.
