Vestiaire Collective's Fanny Moizant quits SMCP board

Fanny Moizant has informed the board of Maje and Sandro owner SMCP that she’s stepping down as a director of the company. The move comes as she needs to be “fully focused on her other activities, in particular the development of Vestiaire Collective”, of which she’s co-founder.

Fanny Moizant has quit as a director of SMCP - Maje

She’s been an independent director and member of the Nomination and Compensation Committee of the company since its IPO back in October 2017.

If nothing else, her departure underlines how important resale has become to fashion in recent years and how early-mover resale platforms like Vestiaire Collective have developed into massive retail businesses.

The platform is one of the best-known resale operations and its focus on the high end of the market also makes it stand out.

SMCP’s other directors expressed their thanks to Moizant for her involvement in recent years and chairman Yafu Qiu said: “Fanny played an important role in SMCP’s first steps as a listed company and I deeply thank her for her wise advice. We wish Fanny the best in her projects.”

The company is now looking for a replacement independent director.
