Yoox Net-A-Porter has donated a number of delivery vans to non-profit God’s Love We Deliver in New York to support the charity’s Emergency Shelf-Stable Meal Drive.

This is part of the luxury group’s Volunteered Vehicles initiative, with delivery vans normally used for Net-A-Porter’s Premier delivery service supporting various charitable causes in London, Milan and Hong Kong during the pandemic.

During the NY food drive, which took place on 17-19 April, God’s Love We Deliver delivered 140,000 meals, containing 14 days’ worth of non-perishable food. Nearly 5,000 people living with severe illnesses across all five boroughs of New York, in Hudson County, and Westchester, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties received the food packs.

YNAP said the NY activation marks the third phase of its Volunteered Vehicles initiative. In London, a partnership with local Age UK charities offers delivery services of essential food and supplies to the elderly across seven London boroughs.

In Milan, the new Mr Porter fleet of zero-emission electric vans has been donated to the Italian Red Cross’s “A time for kindness” programme, which is using the vehicles to deliver food and essential supplies to the elderly.

And in Hong Kong, the initiative supports local charity ImpactHK and its mission of delivering food packages and supplies to the homeless.

The group is also providing logistics support for the Emergency Designer Network in London. Led by fashion designers Holly Fulton, Phoebe English and Bethany Williams, the collective aims to make it easier for UK manufacturers and designers to produce PPE garments for key health care workers.
