Colour Trends for Runways - Spring/Summer 2022 (Fashion for Breakfast)

Published
Oct 25, 2021

Autumn is here and the days are getting colder, but we want to leap forward to the next warm season with the colour trends for Spring/Summer 2022 from the latest shows.

Together let’s have a close look at the most trendy shades of the colour palette that designers have brought to the runways at the latest Fashion Weeks.

Our research starts with an electric and modern colour, that renews femininity of the S/S 22 season in an eccentric and unusual way. We are talking about Pantone 19-3748 Prism Violet, a bright purple colour with a mystical and fascinating effect, that the runways have presented as suitable for both athletic gear as well as clearly feminine pieces with a romantic touch.

Staying on cool tones, bringing the infinite colours of the sea to the runway we have Pantone 17-4435 Malibu Blue, a dark and deep blue, and 14-4320 Baltic Sea, a very light blue on the other hand, icy like a cascade of pure water, that illuminates the pleats and drapings of clothing with infinite, almost ethereal metal facets.

Going back to the more “classically” feminine ground, we have Pantone 17-2435 Pink Glo, which, however, adds a burst of renewing energy to the classic colour palette associated to femininity. It is a dash of hot pink, full of life, with a fluorescent effect, full of energy, giving body to clothes and enhancing the lines to provide modern and showy romanticism.

We conclude this journey through the assorted colour palette of the S/S 22 season with two colours bursting with eccentricity and the desire to stand out: Pantone 14-0340 Acid Green. The hue that brings all of the energy of lime green to the runway, blinding and extremely modern, on clothes with a minimalist cut as well as soft pieces with a youthful style. Next to this colour we have Pantone 12-0741 Sunny Lime, which is one shade down in relation to the acid effect of lime, with light and creamy pistachio-related hues, and is featured on pieces that convey comfort and character.
